Each packet of Mushroom Hot Cocoa with Cordyceps includes dual-extracted Cordyceps militaris. Dual-extracted means that the active water and fat-soluble components have been extracted with boiling water and alcohol, respectively. After removing the alcohol and concentrating the extract, Four Sigmatic spray-dries it back to powder.
Four Sigmatic only uses the cultivated fruiting bodies of Cordyceps militaris. Since caterpillars are not used in their production methods, Mushroom Hot Cocoa with Cordyceps is suitable for vegans.
