This recording celebrates the sounds of 18th-century wind instruments in music written for them by two composers especially sensitive to instrumental colour.

The Australian Classical Wind Band is an ensemble dedicated to the re-creation of Harmoniemusik on period instruments. The ensemble comprises leading performers of historical wind instruments from around Australia. The ensemble performs Classical repertoire of a variety of styles ranging from the great works of Mozart and Beethoven written originally for the Harmonie ensemble, through to popular contemporary arrangements of their operas and symphonies.
