With the elder Cristobal de Morales and the younger Tomas Luis de Victoria, Francisco Guerrero was one of the three great Spanish priest-composers of the 16th century. Born in the wealthy trading port city of Seville 1528, he served in the cathedral there, as he himself later reported,"from infancy ".
