This 2-DVD set features five piano concerto performances by Maurizio Pollini, all filmed in the late 1970s at the Musikverein in Vienna. Pollini performs with Karl Bohm conducting the Vienna Philharmonic in Beethoven piano concertos Nos. 3 and 5 and Mozart piano concertos Nos. 19 and 23. The DVD is completed with Brahms's lyrical second piano concerto, this time with Claudio Abbado leading the Vienna Philharmonic.

This is a fascinating close-up of one the of the 20th century's greatest pianists.
