Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the commemoration of the death of Shostakovich, Chief Conductor Oleg Caetani leads the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra though the strikes, violence and rebellion of the Revolution of 1905. Coupled with this remarkable piece is the first Jazz Suite and an arrangement of The Excursion Train Polka.

This CD is among the first batch of releases in the new MSO Live series.
