Blackwood is the vehicle for the renaissance of the clarinet as a seriously groovy instrument.

Led by Sean O'Boyle on clarinet, Blackwood features the piano and organ talents of Dale Rabic, the guitar mastery of Wes Taylor, the natural double of bass and trumpet by Andrew Johnson, the drum and percussion grooves of Steve Francis and the seriously seductive voice of Leona Collier.

The cornerstone of the Blackwood philosophy is there is nothing better than a fantastic melody with a great groove. Blackwood performs fabulous standards coupled with dazzling original tunes of lush colour and depth.

Young Brisbane vocalist, Megan Washington, was invited to lend her voice to this project. Megan is the winner of the inaugural James Morrison Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship.
