Following a litany of requests, this beautiful recording of Wolf and Strauss Lieder is made available again in its entirety. The songs are beautifully characterised by Barbara Bonney and charismatically accompanied by the veteran Australian pianist, Geoffrey Parsons.

'Bonney finds truth in simplicity … [she] sings with practically every accomplishment one could possibly wish to hear. Her voice is clear, bell-like yet with a certain tang to it. Her technique is well-nigh faultless. The line is always firmly held, the pitch is perfect and the phrasing innately musical. But what is particularly rewarding, at least as far as her Wolf selection is concerned, is the imagination behind the singing … Parsons seems inspired by his partner to give of his very best. His playing, marvellously caught as is the voice, by a forward yet spacious recording, one of DG's most successful, is at once elating and translucent.' - Gramophone.
