Classical Music from the World of Cinema.
Lights! Camera! Action! is ABC Local Radio's new hit program on Saturday nights from 6.30pm. Hosted by Adam Bowen, this national radio show covers the history of movie and television music.
This 2CD set, Classics at the Movies, is the first in a series of CDs from the program, and features classical music from the world of cinema. Tracks featured on this album include Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries', used to stunning effect in Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now, Barber's Adagio, which has been used in many films, but perhaps most famously in Platoon, and Out of Africa, which featured Mozart's Clarinet Concerto (No. 1 on the Classic 100).
