A 2-CD anthology of nearly two-and-a-half hours in celebration of Kiri Te Kanawa's great artistry.

This release appears in the SBS-TV series 'Masterworks'.

Dame Kiri's complete affinity with opera, oratorio, musicals and songs is profiled in this compilation. The anthology concludes with Victor Herbert's Art is calling for me, an encore that is so particular to her and which she dispatches with such panache.

Her stylish Mozart, with both Sir Colin Davis and Sir Georg Solti is represented, as is 'Beim Schlafengehen' from Richard Strauss' Four Last Songs - music virtually synonymous with her and highlighting too the late Sir Georg Solti's fondness and high regard for her.

Her Italian opera recordings are represented by Puccini and Verdi; her oratorio singing by Bach, Handel, Faure and Brahms.

While the focus of this anthology is on Kiri herself - accounting for the high proportion of solo numbers - there are also duets with Jose Carreras (Manon Lescaut) and Olaf Bar (The Magic Flute) as well as some numbers with choir (Nun's Chorus, Climb ev'ry mountain).
