With magnificent orchestral contributions from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under conductors Bernard Haitink and Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt (in Piano Concerto No.1), the featured solists are all artists with long associations with Philips: Alfred Brendel, Henryk Szeryng, and Janos Starker. Alfred Brendel's first recording of Brahms' First Concerto here receives its first international CD release.
