Once again she shows her immense vocal versatility and sense of style that she has displayed on such diverse albums as For the Stars, Hercules, and Mots d'Amour – yet all sharing something consistent: outstanding artistry.

Anne Sofie is her natural self when she playfully breathes life into Offenbach's characters, ironic portraits, and parodies of the Parisian society of the 19th century. This is why Jacques Offenbach was one of the most entertaining composers of his time and gives evidence to explain his still enthusiastic reception nowadays.

Whether Anne Sofie is singing the famous, mesmerizing Barcarole, playing the tipsy La Perichole, or yodeling the Tyrolienne from La Vie Parisienne, she is able to represent the whole array of Offenbach's opera bouffes convincingly. In essence, this album is a beautiful tribute to Parisian flair – that spirit and joy of life.
