Before emigrating to Australia, joining the Opera Australia Company and appearing in some of the country's most high profile arts events, Shu-Cheen Yu was a principal artist with the Beijing Opera Company.

On this her debut album for ABC Classics, she brings together both of her musical worlds - Chinese songs and opera arias.
