In recent years some of the more colourful compositions for the combination of guitar and flute have emerged from Argentina and Australia. The temperament, character and the traditions of these two countries are obviously very different. However, composers in both these countries have produced music dominated by common characteristics, such as regional imagery and atmosphere.

This recording features the two most important Latin American works written for flute and guitar in recent years, 'Histoire du Tango' by Astor Piazzolla and 'suite Buenos Aires' by Maximo Diego Pujol.
